Guys don’t understand what women go through on a daily basis: being ogled by lascivious douchebags every time we try to pump gas, coddling our menfolk when we just want to scream “Suck it up!”, and working long hours to keep the lights on while wearing high heels. Yeah. It’s amazing that we don’t self-destruct.

Pent up aggression isn’t healthy and roller skating is, so doesn’t it make sense to combine the two and unleash your inner she-beast via roller derby? The Broward County Derby Grrls are firm believers in better living through eight-wheel action. They’ve been kickin’ ass all over the southland, checkin’ chicks right and left — now all they need is you. Tug on a pair of skates today (and every Sunday) at Gold Coast Roller Rink (2604 S. Federal Hwy., Fort Lauderdale) and take a spin with the BCDG during Fresh Meat Sundays. That’s when the gals of BCDG show newbies the finer points of skating, passing, and basically dominating a roller rink. You don’t have to have skills when you arrive, the gals are happy to teach. Hell, you don’t even need skates! Just bring elbow and kneepads, wrist guards, five dollars, and a little bit of angst. They’ll provide the rest. Visit www.myspace.com/browardcountyderbygrrls.
Sundays. Starts: Aug. 17. Continues through March 29, 2008
