Jazz Matazz

Besides stories about dumb criminals and alligator tales, another thing South Florida is good at dishing up is free, quality live music. It's an incredible gift bestowed upon us by city governments that take music seriously. Whether it's a Thursday night in West Palm Beach or a Sunday afternoon in Fort Lauderdale, chances are high that free live music is within your reach. The bonus is that only real talent makes it onto these official stages, guaranteeing a better musical gamble than the one you might accidentally stroll into on your boozy night out. With a whopping three stages of live music, the SunTrust Sunday Jazz Brunch truly outdoes itself. Taking place the first Sunday of each month along the historic New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale, this is a brunch worth skipping breakfast for. Food and booze are served from your favorite local restaurants, and in pure awesome-free-event fashion, there will be unique craft and art vendors displaying their goods while you stroll. If taste and sound aren't your two favorite senses to combine, take one trip to Sunday Jazz Brunch and we have a feeling you will change your mind. The SunTrust Sunday Jazz Brunch spans three stages along the New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Admission is free. Live music is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 954-828-5811, or visit fortlauderdale.gov/events.
