New Times admits it: When we say that “the holidays are a time for giving,”what we’re really referring to most of the time is the practice of giving our livers all they can handle. See, there is nothing wrong with boozing till we’re as tipsy as a dreidel, our noses are red as Rudolph’s, and we’re generally lit like a kinara — especially if our pursuit of holiday jollies benefits a good cause. That’s why “Mickey Byrne’s Second-Annual Festivus for the Rest of Us!” should be marked on the holiday calendars of celebrators of all kinds and creeds.

By attending this cheerful affair, you’ll not only be able to meet your liver’s holiday quota by slamming ’em down at the two-hour open bar but you’ll be doing it to benefit the Ann Storck foundation, which is as dedicated to helping children and adults with developmental disabilities as you are to blacking out in a goofy sweater in December.
