Straight outta the mean streets of LBS (Lauderdale-by-the-Sea) comes the locally flavored hip-hop trio
Kawabungaliztikz (pronounced kou-uh-buhng-guh-lis-tiks). The groups aesthetic, a puff-puff-pass cocktail of smart-alecky rhymes and nerd-boy swagger, offers insider perspective on local beach culture in between the bong rips and Commercial Pier surf sessions think a crunk-style cross of Cypress Hill, 3rd Bass, and Kris Kross. The groups songs detail, among other things, why their girlfriends cant dress them, why theyre more awesome than you are, and all the ways they like to party, all while reppin the 954.
You too can keep it real Friday at Crazy 8s Sports Lounge (4 W. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale). Zee and Six String King will kick off the night around 9 p.m. with a packed house of tanned shorties getting jiggy and getting lit. Admission costs $5. Call 954-347-5767, or visit stokedentertainment.com or myspace.com/kawabungaliztikz.
