KISS Country

There’s something pleasantly ironic about well-mannered, artsy types saddling up to the “Starchild” himself, Paul Stanley, and having a civil conversation about modern art while purchasing one of his paintings. Would it surprise you if, at any moment, he pulled out a flying V guitar, knocked some old broad over with a high decibel scream, and busted headlong into “I Was Made for Lovin’ You?” That’s what we’d like him to do, anyway, when he stops by the Wentworth Galleries (3101 PGA Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens and 6000 Glades Rd., Boca Raton) for a meet and greet with his faithful art following.

But he won’t do that; he’ll just smile politely as folks buy his paintings. We know what you’re thinking: One of the founding members of KISS paints? Yes, he does. Vibrant, colorful oil on canvas stuff, at that. You can purchase a limited edition print (for around $1,500, we’re told), get a nice, personalized note (“Keep Rockin’ – Paul”), and meet him in person (if you purchase in advance) at 6 p.m. Friday in Palm Beach Gardens, or 6 p.m. Saturday in Boca. Call 561-624-0656, or visit www.wentworthgallery.com.
