La Cage Aux Brawls

Da-Da 5000 is six-foot-three, weighs 275 pounds, can bench-press 650 pounds, and has spent an inordinate amount of time hanging out in his mother’s Miami backyard. The guy loves his mom, but the real draw is likely the 12-by-12-foot ring Da-Da 5000 set up to promote and participate in backyard brawls. Now, after following fellow Miami native Kimbo Slice’s lead and posting clips of the bare-knuckle fights on YouTube, Mr. 5000 has earned his shot at mixed martial arts glory. Tonight, he’ll make his professional debut at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood), where Action Fight League will present “Rock N Rumble 2.”

Finding out if Da-Da is the next Kimbo is only part of the reason to go. You’ll also get to see fighters from MMA teams including American Top Team, Team Couture, Team Popovitch, the Wolf Pack, and MMA Masters step into the cage to beat the shit out of each other for your enjoyment (and bragging rights). The fights start at 7:30 p.m., tickets start at $25, and you can get yours at the Hard Rock box office,, or by calling 800-745-3000.
