Lady Parts

With an acting résumé that stretches from Gablestage and New Theatre to a featured role alongside Paris Hilton in the 2006 straight-to-video sorority romp National Lampoon’s Pledge This!, Miriam Kulick has proven her propensity to mix it up. She does stage and screen, drama and comedy, serious theater and unabashed trash. Really, she does it all.

But Kulick is also a 50-ish actress. And as she says in the notes to her new show: “There are too few substantial roles for women of a certain age.” Her solution: Write and stage Almost Tamed: Tales of Mayhem, Motion, and Malarky, a totally mixed-up program of six short plays about jailed females, a girl and her bird, 92-year-old fraternal twins, politically conflicted lesbians, and ladies looking for love.

Directed by Stuart Meltzer, Kulick and costar Casey Dressler will perform Almost Tamed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. through April 25 at the Andrews Living Art Studio (23 NW Fifth St., Fort Lauderdale). Tickets cost $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $10 for students. Call 954-369-5503, or visit miriamkulick.com.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: April 16. Continues through April 25, 2010
