Learn to Crawl

Every city has its nickname. New York is the Big Apple. New Orleans: the Big Easy. Philly is the City of Brotherly Love. And then there's Fort Lauderdale: AKA Fort Liquordale. Obviously, we're best-known for one thing -- drinking. So it would be rather fitting that the city named after such a bar-centered activity would have its own bar crawl. Now it does. The inaugural FortLauderdaleBarCrawl.com event is taking place this Saturday night. Running from 6:30 to 11, the crawl will make its way around eight bars, each one providing a complimentary drink. And if that's not enough for you, drink and shot specials will be provided all night just by showing off your fabulous wristband. An afterparty will be hosted at Lucky's, featuring prizes including a 50-inch TV. Tickets cost $25 at the door or $20 in advance through the website. Check-in is at 6:30 p.m. at Lucky's downtown, 214 SW Second St. in Fort Lauderdale. Visit fortlauderdalebarcrawl.com.
