Lots of Yellow Balls

The Delray Beach International Tennis Championships will feature Tommy Haas of Germany, who’s ranked 17th in the world, and brothers Bob and Mike Bryan, the tournament’s defending doubles champions. But if you’re a rabid tennis fan, chances are you’ll care more about tennis legends like John McEnroe and Guillermo Vilas, who are scheduled to play as part of the ATP Champions Tour. The fuzzy yellow balls start getting smacked on Saturday with qualifying rounds at Delray Beach Tennis Center (201 W. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach). Both the doubles and singles finals are scheduled for February 28. Tickets start at $25 on Saturday, then vary from $15 to $30 during the week — but the “best seats in the house” on the final day cost $250. Call 561-330-6000, or visit yellowtennisball.com.
