Usually reserved as a destination for delectable cocktail crafts, this Thursday night, Fort Lauderdale’s Bar Stache 1920’s Drinking Den will also be serving some serious laughs. Claiming to be the only night of comedy available in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Comedy at Stache of Laughs brings an assortment of the area’s comedic up-and-comers to perform for one evening. This new monthly event (held the second Thursday of each month) is much more than a standup show, however; there is a promising cocktail hour (as if there were ever a doubt), with $5 well-drink specials, savory appetizers, and pop-up arts and crafts shops all around. Attendees will have a chance to pick up chic pet accessories from Hollywood Pet Couture, rock the rock ’n’ roll garb offered by Retrouvaille, and peruse the artwork of Dixie Art and Vivian “Petitflor” Orozco. Dominican-born and Miami-bred Julie Baez hosts this night of many flavors with a brand of comedy that takes inspiration from Richard Pryor but with an added helping of Latin spice. This night of laughs, cocktails, and crafts goes down Thursday from 8 to 11 p.m. at Bar Stache 1920’s Drinking Den, located at 109 SW Second Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Free to attend.
