Love Your Nuts

Even if you’re typically allergic, show some love for “A Pair of Nuts” tonight, when this nationally known comedy duo performs skits, plays video clips, and dresses in costumes that Britney couldn’t pull off on a good day. The Miami-based Cuban duo, comprised of the handsome cue ball Yamil Piedra and his little cohort Johnny Trabanco, promises you’ll enjoy the new show. “We really haven’t been booed,” Trabanco claims. Piedra, however, concedes, “We’re an acquired taste.”

You don’t have to know all about Castro and chicharrones to get the Nuts’ brand of comedy. Aside from their online hit video “Chonga Chat,” Piedra swears they don’t do much Hispanic-based material. Hey, they got applauded in a cowboy-filled Texas trailer-turned-comedy club last year, so they ought to be able to handle the South Florida crowd.

Get giggly at the Seminole Hard Rock Improv, 5700 Seminole Way in Hollywood. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show cost $12, with a two-drink minimum. Must be 18 to attend. Call 954-981-5653, or visit improvftl.com. The duo will also perform at the Palm Beach Improv at CityPlace (550 S. Rosemary Ave., West Palm Beach) on Wednesday, June 17 at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $10.
