So it's your turn to play family chef this Thanksgiving. Congratulations. Not only are you responsible for preparing something pleasing to the taste buds, but you must present it with a fair amount of competence. But no matter how much you've read up on turkey basting, you can't help shake the feeling that, in the end, you're going to freak out and have a
Gallagher moment in front of your relatives. Well, if you're going to go that route, you might as well do it right. And it just so happens the prop comic is in town this Friday at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts (701 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach). You'll want to be there to take notes on his method.
First, understand that the only utensil Gallagher owns is the Sledge-O-Matic, the giant wooden mallet he uses to "tenderize" watermelon, Big Macs, etc. Second, this excludes carrot tops. For real. Third, all splatter paintings must depict a map of the United States. Finally, hand out ponchos to minimize the heckling. (Sorry, there's no way to stop it entirely.) The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $32. Call 561-832-7469, or visit kravis.org.
