Make “House” Your Second Home

Roaming through Jorge Pardo’s newest exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art (770 NE 125th St., North Miami): “House” is nothing like fumbling through your own stack of bricks. You won’t find cat hair-matted rugs, dirty dishes, and mismatched appliances. Instead, you ascend into a world of perfect mid-century design, one that blends the boundaries of architecture, sculpture, photography, painting, and sheer exhilaration. Mini rooms are constructed throughout the museum, punctuated with Pardo’s marvelous knack for blending modernism with minimalism. Walls end and give way to large-scale photo installations, bending your perception of space. A must-see for fans of all forms of art (and for any homeowner searching desperately for a muse before she retiles her kitchen), “House” is reminiscent of the best part (well, that’s the way we see it) of New York’s Museum of Modern Art: the interior design floor. Exhibit runs through March 22. Tickets range $3 to $5. Call 305-893-6211, or visit
