Mama Knows Best

If the kids on the Jersey Shore had a mama like the one in the production of Ask Mama at the Andrew Living Arts Studio, maybe they'd have been less likely to have become the poster children for guido nation. Sometimes you just need an older Italian mother to slap/feed/point you in the right direction. Enter Ask Mama, a one-woman interactive show in which life lessons aren't dealt out to the audience with a gentle caress; they are given to the audience with a sassy, no-holds-barred smack of wisdom. Before the show begins, the audience is asked to submit any questions they wouldn't mind "Mama" answering while she's onstage -- no topic is too taboo for her. Andrew Living Arts Studio, located at 23 NW Fifth St. in Fort Lauderdale, will present the show on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $20. Visit andrewslivingarts.com, or call 954-530-1879.
Fri., March 8, 8 p.m.; Sat., March 9, 8 p.m., 2013
