Maroone Is Our Favorite Color

Helping celebrate all things Latino is Maroone. Did you know that, besides providing cars, they put on the longest running Hispanic festival in Broward? This year’s Hispanic Fest will celebrate the big 2-2 from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at Pines Recreation Center (7400 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines). The festival will include all the goodies you love: the atmosphere, the Latin food, the old women yelling “Sis kabob! Arepas!” And there’ll be lots of music too. On the bill is NG2, Tiempo Libre, Local 24, Dyland y Lenny, Rey Ruiz, and many more. Proceeds will go to benefit Hispanic Unity of Florida, a non-profit all about empowering Hispanics. It costs $5 per person (or $20 for six). Call 954-987-2665, or visit hispanicunity.org/hispanicfest.
