Mens of Stage and Screen

Maybe you remember David Alan Grier from In Living Color or Boomerang. But crack open IMDB and you'll find a list of credits longer than his afro in the 1980s. Primarily known for his work in television, Grier has also starred in films in a variety of genres, as well as written for television and acted in live theatre. He was trained at Yale School of Drama, too — not something you’d expect from a guy known for dressing up in ill-fitting clothes and playing a flamboyant movie reviewer. But one thing has remained consistent over the duration of his career: his love of the stage. It's lead him to everything from a Tony Award nomination to a turn on the reality show Dancing With The Stars. And now, it’s bringing him back to the Improv Paradise Live for a night of stand up.

Give David two snaps in a circle Friday through Sunday at 5700 Seminole Way in Hollywood. Tickets cost $26.50. Visit improvftl.com for showtimes, or call the box office at 954-981-5653.
