Miami is one of the most famous cities in the world, and rightfully so. The metropolis is well-known for a number of specialties. But coming up Thursday is an event that will focus on one of Miami's greatest culture offerings. No, it's not the Cuban sandwich. And no, it's not LeBron. It's all about the local art and artists that make this city great. Andrew Hevia will be showing his new film, which was shot in the time leading up to Art Basel 2011, The Rising Tide: A Story of Miami Artists. More than just a free movie, the Q&A after the screening means that you can get an inside look into the Miami art scene. Don't be shy. Grab a brush/pencil/spray can and join in. The discussion and film screening occur Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale (1 E. Las Olas Blvd.). The screening is free with museum admission.
