Millionaire Makes Fun of Poor People; Poor People Like It

If a pointy-headed New York liberal said the things redneck comedian Jeff Foxworthy says about the rural American working class, he’d be lynched. (Or given tenure.) Jeff Foxworthy says them, and he’s loved. Not by television audiences so much — the Jeff Foxworthy Show lasted just one season, got moved to another network, and lasted just one season there, and the same thing happened to Blue Collar TV. (Jeff’s biggest televised success has been the dispiriting Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, which he repeatedly proves to America that no, you’re not.) But live, Jeff’s a goddamned phenom! His “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” ran for three straight years. Recordings of his live shows sell in the millions. People love him. And you can catch him Thursday at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood). Tickets cost $49 to $94, and doors open at 7 p.m. Visit
