Mocking Matters

South Floridians are not known for inquisitively discussing intellectual topics like politics, social issues, and generational divides. That would seriously interfere with time designated for reading gossip mags at the beach. If you're looking to explore some conversation topics less common in South Florida while having a laugh, the sketch comedy group Second City will be satirically ripping the world to shreds Friday night. The sketch comedy group with more than 50 years under its belt -- and a roster including comedic greats like Aykroyd, Belushi, Fey, Myers, and Colbert -- will be pairing classic gigs with modern-day social satire. The "Best of Second City" starts Friday at 8:30 p.m. at the Broward Center's Amaturo Theatre. Tickets cost $39. The theater is located at 201 SW Fifth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale.
