Looking to expand your dusty comic-book collection to include rare graphic novels? Or how about trading one of your Watchmen figurines for a statue with dragon-fighting superpowers? On Sunday, Tate's Comics will host its second Comics Community Park and Swap
meet in which independent sellers will set up booths to sell and trade all sorts of drool-worthy collectible items, such as Marvel superheroes merchandise and Japanese manga.
From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., enthusiasts of the comic-book world can navigate the transformed parking lot and haggle for bargains on quirky toys, unusual films, colorful plushies, anime, and any other items that induce a pulp culture wet dream. The store of sacred geekdom will not charge sellers a commission and requests only that collectibles are traded and sold off without having any "monkey business" go down. Purchases and trades are done directly between buyers and sellers, and the event is free to attend.
To become a seller at the meet, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Tate's Comics is located at 4566 N. University Drive in Lauderhill. Call 954-748-0181, or visit tatescomics.com
