Oh Danny Boy

The Culture Vultures are circling. Why, you ask? They’d hate to miss the beginning of feeding season, that’s why. Adding to the frenzy is the first production of the new season by The Alliance Theatre Lab, John Patrick Shanley’s Danny and the Deep Blue Sea. The tale, a modern take on Beauty and the Beast, revolves around a less poetic love story: he is violent (and possibly murderous), she is tormented by personal demons (and is possibly a threat to herself), they meet while binge drinking. So, ya know, it’s upbeat. Just consider it a highbrow Barfly. The drunks hit the stage (and you hit the seats) at Main Street Playhouse (6766 Main St., Miami Lakes) on Thursday night. Tickets range $10 to $15. Call 305-567-2721, or visit www.thealliancetheatrelab.com.
Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: Nov. 29. Continues through Dec. 9, 2007
