Oktoberfests Roundup, Part Deux

Oktoberfest in South Florida is hardly over. In fact, it's just getting started. Last week's parties either have you dragging your feet or trembling for more. Either way, slam a half-gallon of bier and figure it out. If you've decided to carry on, then we have at least a few more parties for you. • Due South Oktoberfest, October 3 through 5, noon to 11 p.m. It's only appropriate that a South Florida craft brewery will be throwing an Oktoberfest party, and Due South Brewing at 2900 High Ridge Road in Boynton Beach is guilty as charged. For three days, there will be food trucks and a couple of seasonals brewed by Due South: Oktoberfest Marzen lager and Isle of MaGourdo pumpkin ale. Doors open at noon; no admission, and no one under 21 will be allowed after 7 p.m. Call 561-463-2337. • Oakland Park Oktoberfest, October 4, from 5 to 11 p.m. and October 5 from 1 to 11 p.m. Did you ever want to see dachshunds racing? You can at the ninth-annual Oakland Park Oktoberfest. Other than racing wiener dogs, you get to indulge in authentic Bavarian food, beer, and German folk music. Entry costs $5 and starts at 5 p.m. at Jaco Pastorius Park at 4000 N. Dixie Highway. You'd best come dressed like you're from old-school Germany. Andrews Ave. in Fort ­Lauderdale is hosting the Young Professionals for Covenant House Oktoberfest starting at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers. A new membership plus entry costs $30. Admission includes one drink and an appetizer. Call 954-463-4900.
