Party Tricks

Known for setting the world record for the Human Chair Stack and appearing on numerous mainstream TV specials, the Peking Acrobats of China are going to knock South Floridians out of their seats with a multitude of maneuvers that always push the limit. Their reputation lies in their ability and grace as they successfully perform trick cycling, precision tumbling, somersaulting, and your not-so-average gymnastic moves onstage. To synchronize their stunts, this Chinese carnival is amplified by the sounds of live music that use traditional Chinese instruments and snazzy special effects. Thanks to repeated critical acclamations, the group's talents have appeared in box-office hits like Ocean's 11 and have allowed them to make a recent debut at the Hollywood Bowl, along with appearances across the world, leading up to their very own 25th Silver Anniversary DVD. To say the least, they know how to change up their routine to continuously be sought after. Hoping this isn't the last time this bodacious troupe shows its face in our sunny state, your opportunity to see it locally will be short-lived, as it is here for one night only, on Tuesday at the Broward Center, located at 201 SW Fifth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased via or by calling 954-462-0222. Prices range from $15 to $35. Group purchases are subject to a discount. Visit chinese
