Planetary Alignment

For all of the heteronormative hooey and gender stereotyping that the über-popular 1992 best-selling book Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus offers, we can distill one piece of wisdom out of this relationship guide that works for folks of all sexual orientations and genders: If you are nice to us (and we are attracted to you), we might want to have sex with you. What a concept! Of course, this bit of advice is delivered in the nausea-inducing chant "less nagging, more shagging," but we digress. The New York Times bestseller by author John Gray is now a one-man show that combines theater and standup starring comedian Peter Story. In the performance at the Amaturo Theater at Broward Center for the Performing Arts through Saturday, Story takes pieces from his own marriage and lessons and advice from the book and delivers them in a fast-paced performance that is sure to beat sitting at home and flipping through the book on your own. Tickets cost $50. Saturday's performance is at 7:30 p.m. at 201 SW Fifth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-522-5334, or visit browardcenter.org.
