Plenty of Fish in the Sea

Get your rods ready. Get your ballyhoo set. Now troll. It’s time to start fishing for the largest dolphin (the fish, not the porpoise) in the sea. No need to feel pressure in this event. Junior, lady, and gentleman anglers will have a month to win their division in Hospice by the Sea’s 17th-annual June Amateur Dolphin Roundup sponsored by Competition Tackle in Fort Lauderdale. Teams will compete to place the first-, second-, third-, or fourth-largest dolphin (again, not Flipper!) while promoting recognition and benefiting Hospice by the Sea, a nonprofit organization that for more than 35 years has provided compassionate care and comfort for patients and families in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Board your boats and start your engines on Sunday at 5:30 a.m. at Competition Tackle and Marine, located at 5011 S. State Road 7, Ste. 109, and reel in your last dolphin (fish! not Flipper!) by Friday, June 28, at 7:30 p.m. There is a registration fee of $200 per team of four, and that includes four tickets to the awards party on June 29.
