Christmas is over. You got together with your family and reflected on a great year. You ate yourself silly and probably drank plenty of booze. If the thought of spending one more night attached to the dining room table listening to your uncle's same jokes or your cousin's inappropriate college stories makes you daydream about your day job, then maybe it's time to collect the fam and take them somewhere they can't talk. While the movie theater might be your first option, the Fort Lauderdale Improv is giving you a solid helping of funnies. What could be better than a full night of standup to make you bond with your parents? There's nothing like taking the jokes you just heard and repeating them all weekend to make you feel like you had a good time. Recommend a family detour to Jingles & Jokes and stake your claim as reigning cool kid. Jingles & Jokes, starring Damon Williams and Marvin Dixon, is Wednesday (Christmas Day) at 8 p.m. and Thursday at 10 at the Fort Lauderdale Improv, located at 5700 Seminole Way in Hollywood. Tickets cost $15 to 20, with a two-drink minimum. For those 21 and over only. Call 954-981-5653, or visit ftl.improv.com.
Wed., Dec. 25, 8 p.m.; Thu., Dec. 26, 10 p.m., 2013
