Put on your heels, grab your purse, and get ready for a day of high-class pampering. One of its most worthwhile events of the season, local breast cancer charity organization Glam-a-Thon, has teamed up with the Gallery of Amazing Things to host its annual Lipstick Lounge. Lipstick Lounge is Glam-a-Thon's signature fundraiser, which incorporates cocktails, cosmetics, confections, and couture to raise money for the Broward Health Foundation. All funds raised help underinsured and uninsured women in the South Florida area receive early diagnostic testing and mammograms, while those battling breast cancer receive financial aid, transportation, Medebras, and other vital lifestyle needs. And who doesn't like to be pampered? Ladies can bask in utter relaxation in the luxury Beauty Bar, while the gentlemen can retreat to the Big Boys Toy Chest for their own pampering. To completely satisfy cravings, guests can sample delectable treats from culinary superstars the Bistro and Sweet Spot. As the finishing touch, all guests walk away with quintessential swag bags, which are filled with fashion, food, and beauty souvenirs. From 8 to 11 p.m. Friday, support the efforts of Glam-a-Thon as it works to take the fear out of breast cancer and mobilize women to make a difference in their communities. The Gallery of Amazing Things is located at 481 Federal Highway in Dania Beach. Tickets cost $65 in advance, $85 at the door, and can be purchased online at glam-a-thon.com.
