Tackling the all-but-deified songbook of Cole Porter is no small feat. Luckily for jazz soprano Cheryl Bentyne, she's got three-plus decades of showbiz experience and a four-octave vocal range to draw upon. The California-based chanteuse will perform a tribute to the legendary songwriter during Wednesday's "Let's Misbehave, the Music of Cole Porter." The Gold Coast Jazz Society will host the show, which features Bentyne backed by a three-piece band.
The concert is at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, located at 201 SW Fifth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $40 per person. Call 954-524-0805, or visit goldcoastjazz.org.
