So the Florida State Seminoles have the Miami Hurricanes and other various ACC foes, and the Florida Gators count the Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers among their biggest SEC rivals, but there's no bigger adversary for either school than each other. The Florida-Florida State game is the jewel of each team's schedule every season, and winning the yearly rivalry means everything to the athletes, students, alumni, and fans. This year's contest is set for Saturday in Tallahassee, with a 7:45 p.m. kickoff at Doak Campbell Stadium. More than 90,000 rabid pigskin fans, dressed on one side in garnet and gold, on the other in blue and orange, will descend on the state's capital for the autumn evening affair. So if attending the game is out of the question, a TV viewing is in order. And what better place than at a bar full of fervent fans of each team? Since the advent of ESPN's X Games some ten years ago, sports like skateboarding, BMX, and motocross have become semi-mainstream endeavors. One of the sports that has enjoyed heightened awareness is water-skiing, and its most comprehensive worldwide competition is coming to South Florida. The 2004 U.S. Open Water Ski Championships, presented by Chevy Trucks and Mastercraft, will take place Friday, November 19, through Sunday, November 21, at Mills Pond Park (2201 NW Ninth Ave., Fort Lauderdale). The 18th annual event is the largest cash-prize water-skiing tournament in the world, attracting top talent from more than a dozen countries.
