Road to Wellness

There isn't much that is more rewarding than getting to exercise and help others at the same time. Working toward your own health through runs, walks, or rides while raising money for others has become common. But throw in some free food? OK, we're sold. The American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure is entering its fourth year in South Florida with what will undoubtedly be the biggest and best yet. This year's event will kick off in typical South Florida fashion with a party. The hotly anticipated Tour de Cure Broward/Palm Beach Launch Party is expecting a big crowd, and with good reason. Taking place at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse, this event is totally free. It is to support the riders and the donors on their journey and jump-start it all with a little eat and drink. There will be lite bites provided, but that is not the biggest draw. Fact is, the Tour de Cure keeps research dollars local. All funds raised will remain in Broward and Palm Beach counties, meaning this is a big cause with a homegrown flare. The American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure is Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse, located at 2400 E. Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. No cost to attend. Free drinks for those who RSVP to [email protected] Visit, or call 954-772-8040, ext. 3017.
