Running, Good For Your Art

So, you want to help the kids? You could donate, volunteer, or even lecture them about the good `ol days. But who has that much free time, cash, or dedication? Instead, head up to West Palm Beach and spend a few hours in the sun getting some exercise at Saturday’s Race for the Arts. Register for the 5K run or walk starting at 6:30 a.m. There will be live music and art exhibits put on by Palm Beach County students. All cash brought in goes to local art programs -- but this is the kind of giving that gives back. Not by making you feel all warm and mushy inside, but through raffles for dozens of prizes like free car washes, Lion Country Safari passes, and even free cruise tickets. The race starts at Meyer Amphitheater (105 Evernia St., West Palm Beach). Registration costs $25. Visit www.raceforthearts.org.
