Seafood is kind of a big deal in South Florida. Unfortunately, the oceans are need in of a little TLC. To raise funds, Friends of Gumbo Limbo are hosting a benefit on the rooftop of the Spanish River Library on Friday, November 8, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. World-renowned marine photographer and conservationist Jim Abernathy will be honored while guests nosh on hors d'ouevres and desserts as well as wines provided by Whole Foods Market Boca Raton. Lagerhead Brewing Co. will provide craft beer. The cost to attend is $50 presale for nonmembers, $40 presale for members, and $55 after November 1.
