There’s a list of comedians who fit in the differences-between-men-and-women mold, and, largely, it’s all very obvious, PG-type stuff that’s akin to watching grass grow. (Yes, yes…guys feel very differently about shopping than women do, we know.) But funny girl Diane Ford is a tad different. For starters, Ford isn’t afraid to drag the discussion into the gutter – or should we say, drag it to the gutter, defile it, and leave it for stray animals to pick on. She’ll tell you about her coital miscues, how she uses her tits as a flotation device, or how her exes always seemed to proudly ask her to bear witness to their bowel movements. Filthy, no? It is, but Ford tends to deliver her bits in a manner that makes you smile and blush in the most comfortable of ways. Perhaps that’s what’s earned her 11 nods for Best Female Comedian of the Year from the American Comedy Awards, as well as three specials on HBO and a host of other gigs on Showtime, Comedy Central, and Fox. Check Ford out when she comes to town this Friday and Saturday at the New York Comedy Club (8221 Glades Rd., Boca Raton). Tickets start at $15. Call 561-470-6887, or visit www.nyccboca.com.
