Shopping for Drama

Some chicks just love drama… and shopping. The thespians at the Women’s Theatre Project, dedicated to presenting works “by women, about women, and for everyone,” are tapping into those loves with their upcoming fundraiser the Holiday Shopping Event.

Visit the St. Lawrence Gallery (3556 N. Ocean Blvd., Fort Lauderdale) Friday night and check out works by realist Richard Sklar and mingle with the ladies behind the not-for-profit theater company. Munch on hors d’oeuvres and spend your money on the dramatic honeys by investing in art glass and gift items, while participating in a raffle. Prizes offered include tickets to shows at local theaters, a book by author Lisa R. Delman, and one of Sklar’s giclée prints, entitled Cape Ann. Support local artists and do a little holiday shopping from 6 to 9 p.m. The $10 cover charge includes one drink ticket and complimentary eats. Call 954-462-2334, or e-mail [email protected] to R.S.V.P..
