Slam, Bam, Thank You, Ma’am

Behold! The Panda-Platypus! Is this fearsome creature the latest genetic hallucination from the twisted minds that brought you the ManBearPig? Sadly, no. But you can still check out this very human collective of local slam poets as one of the showcase acts at the South Florida Artists Extravaganza on Saturday.

Event organizer and birthday girl Samantha-Leah Shiff has rounded up a solid collection of local artistic talent spanning multiple media and genres to populate Kevro’s Art Bar. Local musicians Evan Mui, Matt Ryder, Danick, Sabrina Renee, Robert O’Reilly, and Jake Readinger will take to the stage. Artists Lee Mazurk, Amber Tutweiler, and Samantha-Leah Shiff will show off their latest works. Oh, and don’t forget the Panda Platypus Poets, who’ll be let out of their cages for this special occasion. This event is cover-free, but there will be a two-drink minimum (maybe you’ll even get a free comedy routine). Kevro’s Art Bar is located at 166 SE Second Ave. in Delray Beach. Call 561-274-0007.
