Despite the slump in the real estate market, the price of studio space is still out of reach for many artists. The Flamingo Clay Studio, a non-profit made up of clay, glass, metal, stone and fiber artists and which was started to find affordable cooperative spaces in which these artists could work and showcase their work, will be holding a grand opening for a space it recently acquired. The event will showcase the work of 21 artists, including Gael and Howard Silverblatt, Theo Sabel, and Patricia Peters. Local winebroker Barbara Eden will provide free wine, just don't knock over anything.
