There is a long-running debate over whether graffiti is a legit form of art or defacement of public and private property. Whether you’re in the pro-piece camp or hanging on the tagged fence, tonight’s North Beach Art District Artwalk will give you a chance to catch the art movement in action at J.E.W. Media. Watch local graffiti artists creating art on the spot in the studio/store/gallery’s graffiti room throughout the night. This live art creation is part of an opening showcase for the work of “surreal urban” artist Jonathan Vinazza, a fine artist and filmmaker based in South Florida. J.E.W. Media — a nonreligious media and art entity — is the brainchild of Florida graphic designer Joseph Weiner. Munchies will be available for sale via the food truck La Nostra Pizza, and other events will be taking place throughout the area in connection with the art walk. There’s no admission charge to attend the opening or the art walk, and things get under way around 8 p.m. J.E.W. Media is located at 3413 Galt Ocean Mile in Fort Lauderdale.
