Tequila and lime. Sunday and brunch. Pryor and Wilder. Yep, nothing enhances quite like a perfect pair, which is why New Times’ own wine and food extravaganza, Pairings, looks like a sure-fire hit. Thursday at 7:30 p.m., the Broward Center for the Performing Arts will fill with all manner of culinary goodies from the area’s top restaurants (201 SW Fifth Ave., Fort Lauderdale). And that’s where you come in: you’ll not only be able to sample freely and often from the lascivious spread, but you’ll be able to indulge in an unending flow of wines, hand-selected to match the courses on offer.

Wrap your lips around luscious, dry-aged steak from Capitol Grille; nosh on marinated kebabs from Kuluck Persian Restaurant; and pop artfully crafted hand rolls courtesy of RA Sushi. All told, 20 restaurants will throw down their signature dishes. While you’re busy wining and dining, the entertainment will take over: Musical act Larry Joe Miller and the Delusions will set the scene while local artists Adam Schrimmer and Robert Tabor will capture it in a live canvas painting. You’ll also get a chance to take part in the live raffle to win freebies like an E & J Gallo Wine Package, a $100 gift certificate to Eduardo de San Angel, and, the grand prize, a round trip for two to Germany. Mein Gott! But act fast: Tickets cost $29 in advance or $40 at the door. Snatch ΄em up at newtimespairings.com.
