Is there anything more exciting to yell when bowling than "Turkey!"? It's a fun, random way to obnoxiously congratulate your friend on scoring three strikes in a row. But one bowling event aims to make food mean a whole lot more than just a sudden poultry shoutout. Boca Helping Hands is hosting its seventh-annual Bowling for Bread this Sunday, and we have a feeling even the Dude would abide. The event is a food drive cleverly disguised as a superfun day throwing a ball down the lane. The chance to bowl and do some good for the community is a hard one to pass up, so don't be a turkey. Get your tail feathers out there and gobble up those pins. Yeah, we said it!
Bowling for Bread is Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Strikes (21046 Commercial Trail, Boca Raton). Donations are $50 for a single participant, $200 to reserve a lane, and $600 for a sponsorship. Visit bocahelpinghands.org, or email [email protected].
