Sex is one of the most taboo acts in human existence. Catholics seem to think it’s injurious to a person. And then you got the hippies believing free love is necessary for personal growth. But everyone can agree on one thing: When it’s good… oh, it’s damned good. It all starts with mental foreplay. Fetish Factory partiers are encouraged to explore their sexuality in a legal manner through whipping, dancing, and sensual touch (but not through sex). At a Fetish Factory party, there is a select group of “experts” present who have perfected the art of how to be the tease — and the ol’ moan and groan — and on. Learn from them.

Saturday, Fetish Factory will hold its annual Valentine’s Fetish Ball at Karu Nightclub (1000 W. State Road 84, Fort Lauderdale). Some fetish scenesters might recognize the locale as the Saint or Purgatory. There’s a strict dress code for all Fetish Factory events, so, when picking out an outfit, think Kinky Cupid, Submissive Cherub — but most important, wear latex, rubber, leather, and vinyl.

The party runs from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., and what you do after? That is your business. Tickets cost $15 online and $20 at the door. Parking around the club is free, but valet will be offered for those walking in heels. For more info or to purchase tickets, visit thefetishparty.com. For info on Karu, hit up karufortlauderdale.com.
