Summer Comfort

Chef Brian Carenuto has mastered the art of stylish comfort food. His talents at concocting colossal, mouthwatering burgers won him an episode of the Food Network's reality cookoff show Cutthroat Kitchen and has garnered him a huge following at his lunch-counter eatery in Deerfield Beach, Tucker Duke's Lunchbox, in a matter of months. This weekend, the team at Tucker Duke's takes comfort to the next level with its Summer Brewmaster Series. A first in a series of beer pairing dinners that will occur every two weeks, this edition sees the upstart diner team up with Tampa Bay's stellar brewery Cigar City Brewing. We can't imagine a scenario more comfortable than this four-course meal that starts with succulent BBQ tubed pork rinds washed down with a refreshing Invasion Pale Ale and ends with a strawberry cobbler with yellow cake topping and whipped buttermilk with a Cubano-Style Espresso Brown Ale to savor the sweetness (not to mention the Parmesan truffle fries in between.) This taste-bud excursion into the realms of comfort begins at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Tucker Duke's Lunchbox, located at 1101 S. Powerline Road in Deerfield Beach. Cost is $45 plus tax (tip included.)
