Rok:Brgr is a designer burger joint — a fitting addition to the downtown Himmarshee strip. And recently, the Rok:Brgr crew has launched “Beer School Mondays,” a night of slashed prices on their extensive craft-brew selection with some live music. Inside this low-lit venue, the hip atmosphere includes exposed brick walls, leather booths, and a long marble bar — it has a Prohibition-era Chicago theme. Rok:Brgr has nonstop action: Giant flat-screen TVs show the latest sports happenings, Top 40 hits pump through the speakers, and scantily clad waitresses encourage downtown clientele to partake in enjoying themselves. Any day of the week, try any of the gastropub’s variety of signature cocktails, including the “Bacon Bourbon Old Fashioned” — in-house bacon-infused Makers Mark bourbon, maple syrup, and bitters, topped off with an orange slice. But on Monday, get 50 percent off beer specials: The party starts at 8 p.m. and doesn’t quit until closing time. Not a typical way to start the week, cure a case of the Mondays with a case load of beer.
