Surreal Arts

There’s a renewed interest in Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, and as a result, the rightful tea partiers are back: the Mad Hatter ones. The Miramar Cultural Center took notice, and on display until September at Ansin Family Art Gallery is a travelling Salvador Dali exhibit called “Down the Rabbit Hole.” It features a rare collection of lithographs representing the surrealist’s take on Carroll’s classic. For a moment, forget Disney’s take, forget Tim Burton’s — because when Dali meets Carroll, that’s when true wild minds run free. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Admission is free; donations are suggested. Find Miramar Cultural Center at 2400 Civic Center Place in Miramar. Call 954-602- 4500, or visit miramarculturalcenter.org.
Mondays-Thursdays, 10 a.m. Starts: April 5. Continues through Aug. 31, 2010
