At the Covenant House, an organization that feeds, clothes, and shelters children and teens in crisis, doors open first; questions are asked later. Embracing Christian philosophy, the staff aims to treat each kid with unconditional love and absolute respect. Now, onto you — who might be a tad different. If you’re over 40 and embrace the happy-hour mentality — the unconditional love for the Absolut tonic — head on over to BACH’s Sizzlin' Summer Social from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. this Thursday at Trina Restaurant and Lounge (601 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., Fort Lauderale). BACH — which stands for Benefactors Advancing Covenant House — is a group of age-40-and-over business folk dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the youth of Covenant House. If you’re a member of BACH, admission to the Summer Social costs $20, $25 for guests. This includes two cocktails and appetizers. For nonmembers, $35 gets you in to the event plus access to BACH’s other soirees throughout the year. Call 954-568-7914, or visit bach4youth.com.
