The Public Dancing Ritual

There really is no better way to show someone you care than by dry-humping them on the dance floor. But it wasn’t always this way. Once upon a time, men had to make like a peacock and bust out the fanciest moves they could to woo a lady. People, it’s time to “bridge the gap” between yesterday and today. You can grind — bless the public mating ritual that has captivated clubgoers for the past 20 years — or you can do the James Brown shimmy at SoulSwag Saturdays at Capone’s Night Club in downtown Fort Lauderdale. This weekly dance party will offer the very best in classics, funk, and hip-hop. If the thought of a mate actually watching you while you dance has you tripping up, these guys have you covered: Saturday’s drink specials include $3 cocktails and $2 drafts for everyone till 11 p.m. and free shots for women the whole night. Yeah... drink specials are more conducive to grinding than to fancy footwork, so bring your swagger and bust a move early before you end up busting your ass: Doors open at 9 p.m. at Capone’s (310 SW Second Ave., Fort Lauderdale). Call 954-524-1969.
Saturdays, 9 p.m. Starts: Sept. 25. Continues through April 2, 2010
