The Reunion Continues

It has been roughly two years now, and the monthly Foundation Fridays event has become a staple of weekend life at Respectable Street. Like everything else remotely worth a damn around here, it’s easy to take for granted — and even easier to confuse with the annual Foundation Reunion, the third of which takes place this Friday.

“[Foundation Fridays] is a fantastic night that is consistently morphing and growing into what Foundation itself might be like if it were still around today,” DJ Jeff Wrye says, referring to the defunct ’90s nightclub, the Foundation. “The reunion is an event all to itself, filled with tons of people we only get to see this time of year, as well as all three of us DJs [Wrye, Floyd Kelley, and Brian Jacobs] making an all-out effort to re-create set lists that consist of only songs that rightfully bear the Foundation mark. It truly retains the same feeling we all had hanging out at that dingy nightclub all those years ago.”

Forget eggnog. Tonight, it's $4 mind erasers and $2 Yuenglings. The free event starts at 9 p.m. and is for 21-and-up only. Respectable Street is located at 518 Clematis St. in West Palm Beach. Call 561-832-9999, or visit
