While the bars up the street offer free booze to ladies and therefore drunken ladies to guys (tellin’ it like it is, right?), South Florida’s premiere venue for independent arts will host a different sort of ladies night. On Saturday, the Bubble (810 NE Fourth Ave., Fort Lauderdale) will be full of sights to ogle over, but the eye candy will be on the walls, not dancing on the bar. The inaugural "The Trouble With Girls" event will showcase the diverse artistic contributions of women. Expect to encounter paintings, photography, crafts, vendors, live music, burlesque, and more. This all-female art review is the latest brainchild from the intellectual womb of Janette Valentine, a roaring femme-force in the local arts community. You may have seen, or been featured in, her retro pinup photography or heard her rocking around town as the bass player for local hard-rock band Shroud Eater. If not or if you think that Mona Lisa did all that women can do in the art world, then this could become quite an educational party for you. Doors open at 6 p.m. It costs $5 to get in, and an additional $5 will get those 21 and over complimentary drinks. Visit terriblygirly.com.
