When the 2009 Miami Dolphins schedule came out last spring, it was widely assumed that the Fins would be playing for their season against a Pittsburgh Steelers team that would have already clinched homefield and would be resting their starters on the last game of the regular season. Instead, both teams find their respective playoff berths on life support, with a very excellent chance that neither will make it. In a credit to their equally mediocre records, both teams have had Super Bowlian moments of brilliance…and moments of Toilet Bowlian craptitude. Regardless, when the defending Super Bowl Champions hit Land Shark Stadium (2269 Dan Marino Blvd., Miami Gardens) this Sunday, it’s sure to be one hell of an entertaining game. Both the Fins and Steelers have been giving up big points lately, and the stakes will be high. Another thing to expect: An obnoxious Steelers fan or two telling you how much better a human they are than you because they root for the Steelers. Yinzers are priceless. Kickoff is at 1:00 pm. Tickets range from $41 to $700. Visit miamidolphins.com.
