Thinking Outside of the Cardboard Wine Box

Beanie babies. Grandpa’s LP collection. Home movies. Of all the things to store away for a later date when they’ll be greatly appreciated, wine is the last thing that comes to mind. Because, for most, wine storage has meant little more than making Monday’s four-liter jug of Carlo Rossi last through Friday. But there are places like Store Wine Storage (11010 N. Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens), where you can keep your wine. Temps are set at 55 degrees, and James Bond-like technology keeps your fermented grapes safe.

Store Wine Storage lures in customers with private tastings, fingerprint recognition, and events like today’s “Wine, Dine and Design.” From 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, there will be art, interior design, music, and dance. So grab one of the limited number of $25 tickets to wine pairings; proceeds benefit Haiti relief through the American Red Cross and cancer research. And, remember: What you don’t drink, you can just lock up for safekeeping. Call 561-627-8444, or visit
