The '70s were more than just huge, wavy hair, disco, and bell-bottoms. They were also... huge, wavy hair... disco... and bell-bottoms. So why not commemorate a time when the bottoms of most pants could house a homeless family? Especially when the $10 cover goes directly toward Gilda's Club, a free community built to support those with all types of cancer, along with their family and friends. You'll be drinking the night away (which is really the best way to spend a night in '70s attire anyway), starting with one complimentary drink and continuing with various drink specials throughout the night.
The fun starts at 9 p.m. Saturday at Mickey Byrne's Irish Pub, located at 1921 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood. Admission costs $10. Call 954-763-6776, or visit gildasclubsouthflorida.org.
And if Gilda's Club sounds like your kind of organization, it is having an open house on Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. Admission is free, but the meeting is at a member's home, so call 954-214-5580 for more info.
